Obituary of Nancy L. Amell

North Creek: Nancy L. Amell, 67, of Fairview Ave., passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born April 11, 1948 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Leona (LaMay) West. Throughout the years, Nancy was employed by several local resorts in the Lake George region as a chambermaid and most recently at the Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing until her retirement in 2000. Besides spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, Nancy enjoyed garage sales, fairs, playing cards, as well as BINGO. In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her sister, Joan West. She is survived by her beloved husband of 27 years, Edward W. Amell, of North Creek; her children: Edward L. Amell and his wife, Robin of Fort Edward; Shannon Amell and his wife, Jennifer of Glens Falls; four grandchildren: Brittni Kegan of Fort Edward; Elizabeth Tholl and her husband, Gregg of Fort Edward, Edward W. Amell of Fort Edward and Emalee Amell of Glens Falls; her great-granddaughter, IdaMae Tholl; siblings: Barbara Dunkley of Minerva, Bill West of Olmstedville, and Howard West of Stony Creek; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Nancy’s family from 11 am to 1 pm, Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at 1 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Minerva Baptist Cemetery, Route 28N, Minerva.
