Please share a memory of Myrtle to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Warrensburg: Myrtle M. Ross, 89, of Horicon Ave., embarked on her heavenly journey to be with her #1 son, Wayne, her mom, Rilla, and her daughter, Sharon, on Thursday, July 10, 2014, with her loving family at her side. Born September 13, 1924 in Wevertown, she was the daughter of the late Garry Charles Ross and Rilla (Gates) Ross-Wells. She enjoyed her Great Grandchildren, her trips to the Casino, pizza nights at her sisters’ with her nieces and nephews and riding in the Miata with the top down for ice cream. Besides her parents, son-in-law, and daughter, Myrtle was predeceased by her beloved eighth birthday present, her sister, Georgia Chloe Hitchcock, and her other siblings, Lillian Bump, Geneva Cole, Garry Ross, Charles Ross, Earl Wells, Philis Wells, Phil Wells, and John Wells. She is survived by her loving daughter, Joyce M. Reed, of Warrensburg; a son, Mark Ross, her Granddaughter Megan Baker, her husband, Joshua, and their children, Chloe and Shelby, also of Warrensburg; Great Grandson Jeremy Fish and his daughter, Jordan of Saranac Lake, and Grandson Tyler Reed, his wife, Melissa, and their children, Connor and Kendall, all of New Jersey; her sisters, Lois Secor and Jean Wells, both of Wevertown, and Hilda Vroman of Warrensburg; two sister-in-laws, Sharon Wells of North River, and Peggy Wells of Indian Lake. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, with whom she was affectionately known as “Aunt Myrt” or “Myrtle the Turtle”. At Myrtle’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral services scheduled, as she wished that we celebrate her life and the wonderful memories she leaves us. Burial will take place privately, at the convenience of the family in Warrensburg Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Myrtle’s memory to The Lustgarten Foudation, 1111 Stewart Ave. Bethpage, NY 11714.
