Johnsburg/Schroon Lake: William L. Haak, Jr., 26, of Garnet Lake Road passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011 as a result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Born March 25, 1985 in Glens Falls, he was the son of William Haak, Sr. of Johnsburg and Leanna Welch of Schroon Lake. Billy was a 2003 graduate of Schroon Lake Central School. He was employed by Nice ‘N Easy Shops in Pottersville, and most recently at the North Creek location. Billy was a volunteer fireman with the Pottersville Volunteer Fire Department. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his friends and family He loved and was loved by those he came in contact with, and will be remembered for his contagious smile. Billy was predeceased by his grandfathers, Donald Haak, John Saville, and Edward Gadway. Besides his parents, he is survived by a large loving family; his step-father, John Welch of Schroon Lake; brothers, Jonathan Ruggles and his wife, Amber of Schroon Lake; and Cody Welch of Johnsburg; his loving grandparents, and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and soon-to-be nephew, Owyn. He also leaves behind many close friends. Friends may call on Billy’s family from 6 to 8 pm, Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A memorial service to celebrate his life will follow the visitation at 8 pm, Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Billy L.
