Obituary of Joyce A. Harvey

Warrensburg: Joyce A. Harvey, 69, of Third Avenue, passed away peacefully, Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Adirondack Tri-County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family. Born October 11, 1941 in North Creek, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Arvilla (Moffitt) Hammond. She met Robert Harvey in North Creek and eventually wed on December 18, 1963. Joyce enjoyed playing golf, studying local history and most of all, spending time with her beloved family and friends. She was a member of the Warrensburg Planning Board and also a member of the Warrensburg First Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, Allen and Norman Hammond; and sister, Jackie Valenson. Survivors include her two daughters: Donna Rothschild and her husband, Scott of Lindenhurst, IL; Teresa Slater and her husband, Travis of Bakers Mills; her grandchildren: Evan Slater, Jake Rothschild, and Sydney Rothschild; two brothers: Kenneth Hammond and his wife, Sharon of North Creek, Gary Hammond of Salem; four sisters: Doris Swinton and her husband, Richard Green of Rochester, Linda Hammond of Clarmont, FL, Bonnie Whitman of Glens Falls, Judy Walker and her husband, Michael of Lake Luzerne; along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Joyce’s family from 5 to 6 pm, Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A memorial service to celebrate her life will follow the visitation at 6 pm with Rev. Ron Burdett, Pastor of the Warrensburg First Baptist Church, officiating.
