Johnsburg: Frederick S. “Chuck” Granger, Jr., 52, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, March 2, 2019 as a result of a heart attack. A huge part of our hearts now resides in heaven and life as we know it will never be the same. Born April 2, 1966 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Irene (Russell) Granger of North Creek and the late Frederick Granger, Sr. He was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Johnsburg Central School. Chuck began his working years as a heavy equipment operator with his father and eventually took over the family business, F. Granger Logging and Excavating. Affectionately known as “Charlie Brown,” he was a man who loved his family, friends, and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He had an infectious smile and a great sense of humor. He was the ultimate grandpa, almost an overgrown child himself. He spent many hours shooting nerf guns, having tea parties, and giving equipment rides to his beloved grandchildren. Besides his father, he is predeceased by a grandson, Zachary Smith. He is survived by his loving companion of 29 years, Denise Conlon of Johnsburg; his children, Shawn Warrington and his wife, Penny of Johnsburg, Nichole Conlon and her companion, Rich Millington of Pottersville, Billy Conlon of Johnsburg, and Ashley Smith and her companion, Josh Duell of North Creek; grandchildren, Tyler and Kurtis Warrington, Cody and Payton Millington, Orlando Conlon, and Autumn and Taylor Smith; siblings, Debbie Burdett of Warrensburg, Darlene Bennett and her husband, Rick of North Creek, and Tammy Moody of Hudson Falls; his mother-in-law, Norma West and her companion, Dean Morehouse of North Creek; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Chuck’s family from 12 to 2 pm, Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate his life will immediately follow the visitation at 2 pm, at the funeral home. Please visit www.alexanderfh.net for online guest book, condolences, and directions.
