Obituary of Norma Cecil John
Please share a memory of Norma to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Queensbury:
Norma Cecil John, 96, left this earth to be with her heavenly father on February 3, 2011, at Adirondack Tri-County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Creek.
Born December 22, 1914 in Saratoga Springs, she was the daughter of the late Maie Ella (Campbell) and George Cecil.
Norma relocated to Florida for several years, while enjoying her summers spent in the Adirondacks. After the death of her husband, she moved back to live out her life in the mountains she so dearly loved.
Other than her parents, and her husband, Donald J. John whom passed on June 29, 2009; Norma is predeceased by her brother, George Cecil, Jr.; and stepmother, Bessie Cecil.
She leaves behind her nieces, Sally Humphry of Mount Pleasant, NC; Barbara Halpern of Charlotte, NC; Chris Brunhaber of Charlotte, NC; Susan Pierce of Gainsville, VA; nephew, Craig Cecil of Birmingham, AL; and close friend, Joyce Witz of Althol.
At Norma’s request there are no calling hours scheduled.
Internment will take place in the spring at Greenridge Cemetery, Saratoga Springs, with Father Robert Limpert officiating.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Norma’s name to Adirondack Mission, P.O. Box 119, Brant Lake, NY 12815.
