Obituary of Mabel Arlene Moffitt

Bolton Landing: Mabel “Arlene” Moffitt, 65, of Bolton Landing passed away on Monday, July 27, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A life long resident of Bolton Landing she was born on May 8, 1944 the daughter of Richard and Mary Belden. On February 24, 1968 she married the love her life “her Georgie,” George Moffitt. Arlene loved camping with her family and friends, also going on trips, going to casinos and playing bingo. But her greatest love was her family and friends. She touched the lives of everyone she met. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her. She was predeceased by her parents, one sister Virginia Belden, one brother Carl Belden, her grandmother Julia Morehouse. She is survived by her beloved husband, George; one son, George Moffitt Jr.; One special nephew, Timothy Belden, all of Bolton Landing; two sisters: Daisy Alger and her husband, Clarence of Chestertown; Betty Belden of Glens Falls; one brother, Richard Belden of Norwich; one uncle, George Morehouse of Bolton Landing. She is also survived by her in-laws; Nancy Belden of Bolton Landing; Harold and Susan Moffitt of Chestertown; Cindy Moffitt of Chestertown; Clifford and Myrna Belden of Warrensburg; and Alice Prosser of Fort Edward. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins all of whom were special to her. Friends may call on Arlene’s family from 6 to 9 pm, Thursday, July 30, 2009, at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am, Friday at the funeral home with Rev. Robert Herrmann, Pastor of the Thurman Baptist Church, officiating. She wanted to say a special thank you to the oncology unit of Glens Falls Hospital and also Dr. Winehold and staff.
