Bolton Landing:
Roger A. Eberst, 78, of Stewart Avenue, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 9, 2018 at Wesley Health Care Center following a long illness.
Born September 9, 1939 in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Frank and Margaret (Wahl) Eberst.
Following his graduation from Wellington C. Mepham High School in 1958, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served his country as a medic until his honorable discharge in 1963.
Roger was a well-known, friendly face in Bolton Landing. He thoroughly enjoyed visiting with his many friends while out and about. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter and great-granddaughter.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 43 years, Henrietta Eberst of Bolton Landing; one daughter, Tina Eberst of Bolton Landing; brother, Brian Eberst of Merrick, LI; granddaughter, Marissa Hall and great-granddaughter, Harley Lynn Hall, both of Bolton Landing; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call on Roger’s family from 2 to 4 pm, Thursday, April 12, 2018 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will follow the visitation at 4 pm, at the funeral home.
Burial with full military honors will be conducted at 11:30 am, Friday, in Gerald B. H. Solomon, Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate.
