Obituary of David N. Alger

David Nathaniel “Cricket” Alger, 47, of Bowen Hill Road went to be with the lord suddenly, Friday, January 10, 2014.
Born April 22, 1966 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Harry M. and Nancy E. (Graves) Alger of Thurman.
David was a graduate of Warrensburg Central School.
He enlisted in the United States Army, where he served in the eighty-second airborne as a paratrooper and also a heavy equipment operator during Desert Storm.
Upon his honorable discharge, he returned home and worked for Warrensburg School as a custodian, then mechanic and bus driver.
David enjoyed spending time with his son, Anthony, and his family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, camping, and racing.
He was very close to his family and had many close friends and coworkers.
Besides his parents, David is survived by a son, Anthony Alger of Warrensburg; his siblings, Donna Hayes, Denise Hall, Dawn LaBarge and her husband, Joe; Shelia Pierce and her husband, Wes; Denise Hill and her companion, Brian Mott; Amy Shattuck, Alexis Bunzey and her husband, Doug; Donald Cheney and his wife, Bonnie; Richard Alger, and their families. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends including David Edwards and William Baker.
Friends may call on David’s family from 4 to 7 pm, Monday, January 13, 2014, at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will follow the visitation at 7 pm, Monday, at the funeral home with Rev. Skip Hultz, Pastor of Rock Assembly Church in Bolton, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in David’s memory to the David Alger Scholarship Fund, C/O any Glens Falls National Bank branch.
