Obituary of Lloyd A. Dingman

Warrensburg:
Lloyd A. Dingman, Jr., 88, a longtime resident of Warrensburg, peacefully departed this life, Monday, December 7, 2009, joining his loving wife, Florence in their heavenly home.
Born August 18, 1921 in Athol, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Grace (Ingraham) Dingman Sr.
Lloyd met and married Florence Baker on September 26, 1940. Two years later, he became a soldier in the US Army. Wounded in action on the beach of Normandy during the D-Day invasion, Lloyd received the Purple Heart and was awarded the Bronze Star for his combat bravery.
Following his military service, he returned to Warrensburg and started his own pulp business, Dingman Trucking. He worked his dump trucks on various construction jobs including building of the Adirondack Northway. After 42 years in the trucking business, he and Florence retired to Floral City, FL. They enjoyed the warm weather, landscaping, gardening and attending many church social activities.
Lloyd is predeceased by his wife of 68 years, his son, Vance L. Dingman; his daughter, Connie Sue Frisbie; and sisters, Elizabeth Fish and Joyce Cameron.
Survivors include his three daughters, Darlyn Ballard of Fort Edward, Sherri Davis and her husband, James, Marilyn Terrell and her husband, Bruce all of Warrensburg; one brother, Charles Dingman of Athol; one sister, Arlene Watkins of Stony Creek; 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service with military honors will be conducted 2 pm Friday in the Warrensburg Cemetery with the Rev. William Lucia, Pastor of the Christ Community Church in Athol officiating.
Pallbearers will be Jim Davis, Bruce Terrell, Todd Davis, Dennis Terrell, Kevin Monroe and John Ballard Jr.
There are no calling hours scheduled.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
