Obituary of Anthony DiPietro

Warrensburg: Anthony DiPietro, 82, of Pucker Street, passed away February 12, 2009 at his home following a year and a half battle with cancer. Born in New York City on June 5, 1926, he was the son of the late Raffaele and Giuseppina (Reddiconto) DiPietro. He met his wife Maria (Blanco) while vacationing in Lake George. The couple married in 1954. Anthony served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and following his discharge, he worked as a dispatcher for Emery Air Freight in New York City. After moving to Warrensburg in 1962, he worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a letter carrier for almost 22 years until his retirement in 1988. He is predeceased by his sisters: Nancy Fertal and her husband, Leo; Sadie Beaudrot and her husband, Louis; his brothers: Salvatore DiPietro; Joseph DiPietro and his wife, Marie. Besides his beloved wife, Maria, he is survived by his son Michael DiPietro and his wife, Donna; his grandson, Edmund; his beloved niece, Mary Reilly and her family of Queensbury; his sister-in-law, Elsa DiPietro of Brooklyn, and her daughter Luisa Cahill and her husband, James of Virginia; his niece Marie Arcilesi and her husband, Gaspar of Florida; nephews: Louis Beaudrot and his wife, Martha; and John Beaudrot and his wife, Lucille, both of Long Island; along with several other nieces and nephews. At Anthony’s request, there are no calling hours or services scheduled. Anthony’s family wishes to thank the many wonderful people who helped him during his illness: Doctors Michael Lieberth, Mark Hoffman and their staffs; Dr. Paul Bachman; The Glens Falls Hospital staff in the CCU, oncology unit, the staff of 4 West, Donna Gillis, Cathy Fisher, and many others too numerous to list. The family would also like to thank Lynn Rodriguez of the Warren County Health Services, and the High Peaks Hospice nurses who were able to ease his last hours.
