Indian Lake:
Gregory Peter Cornwall, 65, of Pelon Road, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born July 17, 1952 in Ticonderoga, he was the son of the late Richard F. and Mary F. (Freebern) Cornwall.
As a longtime resident of his Pelon Road home, Greg enjoyed the freedom to roam, listening to music, watching food being prepared, and eating. A bit of a loner, he enjoyed attending the Speculator Day Rehabilitation program daily, where he continued to propel his wheelchair through the halls and watched TV with his peers, and preferred to watch others in activities, rather than participating himself.
Besides his parents, Greg is predeceased by two brothers, David and Duane, a nephew, his grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
Greg is survived by his sister, Linda Butler (Thomas), of North Creek; brother, Bruce Cornwall (Patricia) of Culpeper, VA; nieces, Victoria Driscoll, Heather Flanagan (Gary), Jessica Connelly (Jay), Kiely Knickerbocker (Gerry); nephews, Devin and Liam Cornwall. He also leaves behind several great-nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Greg’s family wishes to extend to each staff member and caregiver, their sincere appreciation and heartfelt thank you for the professional health care and concern he has received for so long. Your personal touches and the love shown to him has truly made him part of your family; we will be forever thankful.
A graveside service to celebrate his life will take place in Union Cemetery in the spring at a time to be announced.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Greg’s memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to a local emergency organization of your choice.
