Obituary of Evelyn Marie Dingee

Evelyn “Evie” Marie Dingee, 69, of State Route 8, Johnsburg, passed away peacefully the afternoon of Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at her home, with her loving family by her side. Evie courageously fought a battle with lung cancer for five years prior to her passing.
Born September 28, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Cora P. (Knowelton) and Ivon D. Waldron Sr.
Evie’s working career included Gore Mountain Ski Center, Alpine Lodge and Restaurant, Dayton Savings and Loan in Dayton TX, Glens Falls National Bank & Trust, TCT Credit Union, Nice N Easy, and Rite Aid Pharmacy. She also worked many years as a self-employed interior decorator, painting and wall papering.
Evie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Robert L. Dingee Sr.; beloved sons, Eric (Becky) Tyrel, and Daniel (Kristin) Tyrel; siblings, Ivon (Rose) Waldron Jr., Sharon (Kenny) Hammond, Bonnie (Knox) Brown, Ellen (Jim) French: Sister- In-Laws, Kathy (Frank) Forbes and Hilda Vanderwarker: beloved grandchildren, Kayla Tyrel (fiancé Alexander Lin), Brandon Tyrel, Kathleen ( fiancé Joseph Rush), Julia, Clara, and David Tyrel; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Evie is predeceased by her infant daughter Eva Pauline Tyrel in 1967. Her infant sister, Cora “Pinky” Waldron in 1943; in fant niece, Jennifer Brown in 1981 and her sister, Carol Thomas in 2002.
Evie will be best remembered for her loving smile, flaming red hair, birthday and wedding cakes, paintings, and crocheting and knitting, gentle nature, making others happy and her loving care and compassion for taking care of others. Her biggest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren. Her love of country music and singing has been enjoyed by many over the years. Especially those who used to gather at her house weekly to play music together.
Evie and her family would like to thank Dr. Mark Hoffman and all staff of the CR Wood Cancer Center. You are all so kind and compassionate, and have become a second family to us. In addition, we would we would like to thank High Peaks Hospice, Inc. for their outstanding, love and compassionate care that Evie received. We would like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Steve Osterhout, her next door neighbor, who have become extended family. Lastly, we would like to thank Evie’s daughter in law, Becky, for bringing her to every doctor’s appointment, chemotherapy and radiation treatment, and for being by her side for countless hours. We are all very grateful and blessed for everything everyone has done and could not ask for a higher level of care. May God bless you all.
Friends may call on Evie’s family from 12-2pm, Friday, May 11, 2018 at North Creek Baptist Church on Main Street.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at 2pm at the church.
Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, North Creek.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Evie’s memory to CR Wood Cancer Treatment Center, 102 Park St, Glens Falls, so that all cancer patients may receive the level of care that they need and deserve.
