Obituary of Phyllis A. Jacobs

Warrensburg: Phyllis A. Jacobs, 75, of Ashe Drive, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, February 24, 2011 following a brief illness. Born May 27, 1935 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ruth (Edmonds) Raymond. Phyllis was a Warrensburg Central School graduate and later attended Albany Business College. She worked for RJ Sweet Lumber Mill and Warren County Board of Elections. She was a volunteer for the Warrensburg Historical Society, a devoted mother and grandmother and an active member of the Church of the Holy Cross. Phyllis loved quilting, gardening and antiques. She is survived by her daughter, Shari Hodges and grandson, Taylor Hodges, of Sykesville, MD; son, Marc Jacobs of Westminster, CO; sister, Jean Towers of Edgewater, FL; brother, Richard Raymond of CO; and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews. At Phyllis’ request, there are no calling hours scheduled. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 10 am, Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross, 3764 Main Street, Warrensburg. Burial of her earthly remains will follow in Warrensburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Church of the Holy Cross, 3764 Main Street, Warrensburg, NY 12885 and the COPD Foundation, www.copdfoundation.org.
