Robert J. Denton, 52, of Tripp Lake Road, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, August 2, 2011 due to injuries sustained in a logging accident.
Born September 8, 1958 in Glens Falls, he was the son of his beloved mother, Clara (Moffitt) Denton of Chestertown.
He was a lifelong resident of the area.
Robert was an avid outdoorsman and was in the logging industry for nearly 35 years with his brother, Larry and together they formed R&L Logging. He was also employed by Northeastern Products in Warrensburg.
Besides spending time with his nieces and nephews, Robert could be found in the woods hunting with his nephews and brothers.
He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Helen Moffitt; and his great aunt, Gladys Smith.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his siblings: Jamie Oliver and her husband, John of Chestertown; Larry Denton of Chestertown; Lori Denton of Warrensburg; Ken Denton and his wife, Rona of Warrensburg; Joe Denton and his fiancée, Jill Murphy of Chestertown; nieces and nephews: John and Christopher Oliver of Chestertown; Mandy Denton of Warrensburg; Anne Griffin of Warrensburg; Angela Swan of Pottersville; including his special nieces and nephews, Alex Lanfear, Elizabeth Garney, and Maddy O’Dell; his uncles: Arthur and Sonny Moffitt; his aunt, Almeda Hill; and his beloved dogs; along with several cousins and friends.
At Robert’s request, services are to be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.
