Please share a memory of Katherine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Warrensburg: Katherine “Kit” Perry, 82, of River Street, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at her home, following a long illness. A lifelong resident of Warrensburg, Kit was born October 30, 1930 to Lawrence and Marjorie (Lanfear) Langworthy. A blind date and swallowed bubble gum were precursors to a marriage between Kit and Austin Perry on February 11, 1951. The couple enjoyed 48 years of marriage before Austin's passing on August 31, 1999. Kit and Austin shared a love for horses, starting a boarding and breeding stable, Kit N Kin Ranch in 1960 that still operates in Warrensburg. Pursuing their mutual interest afforded many opportunities for travel, accomplishments and a vast extended family of friends. Of all Kit's achievements, her proudest endeavor was her family. Besides her parents, and late husband, Kit is predeceased by her brother, Donald, brothers-in-law, Earl Fuller, Allan F. Markey, Jr., and Kenneth Morey, and sisters-in-law, Christine and Janet Langworthy, Jean Markey, and Lorraine Morey. She is survived by five daughters, Sunny Lyon and her husband, Richard of Hendersonville, NC, Kathy Goldsmith and her husband, Roy of Somers, CT, Darcy Springer and her husband, Paul of Treasure Island FL, Cindy Johnston and her husband, Charles of Warrensburg, and Amy Zahra and her husband Louis, of Warrensburg; seven grandchildren, Arlene Welch (Larry), Jason Goldsmith, Lindsay Goldsmith, Sandra Springer, Steven Springer (Cindy), Christy Johnston, and Casey Johnston; six great grandchildren, Abigail Welch, Joshua Welch, Elijah Welch, Sophia Goldsmith, Nicholas Springer, and Amanda Springer. She also leaves behind her siblings, Carol Fuller, Lynn Monroe (Wayne), Paul Langworthy, Roger Langworthy (Dorothy), Stan Langworthy (Sharon); sister-in-law Caroline Langworthy; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Friends may call on Kit's family from 7-9 pm Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Alexander-Baker Funeral, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted 11am, Wednesday at the funeral home with Fr. Paul Cox, of St. Cecilia’s RC Church in Warrensburg officiating. Burial will follow in Warrensburg Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest along side her beloved husband. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Kit's memory to the Alzheimer Association at www.alz.org or to Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011,Washington, DC 20090-6011. The family wishes to acknowledge with profound gratitude the many caregivers who so graciously cared for their mother. “Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.” We are forever indebted to you for leaving us with memories no one can steal. “Don't cry because one life is ending; smile because it was.” Please visit www.alexanderfh.net for online guestbook, condolences and directions.
