Bolton Landing:
Albert Lawrence Robinson, 87, of Goodman Avenue, passed away peacefully, Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
A lifelong resident, born March 9, 1927 in Bolton Landing, he was the son of the late Elmer and Lillian (Saunders) Robinson.
Albert served in the United States Navy during WWII. Upon his return he married Evelyn C. Robinson; together they raised a family of seven children. Later in life, he gained a special friend in Betty Belden, and son, Timmy.
He was a caretaker for several properties in Bolton Landing, including the George O’Connor Estate on Green Island, Nirvana Farm, and the Marcella Sembrich Studio. He was a past member of the Bolton Volunteer Fire Company.
Besides his parents, Albert was predeceased by his aunt, Ada Rourke, two half sisters, Mary and Madeline, and a brother, Edward.
He is survived by seven children, Lester Robinson of Lake George, Susan Butler of Bolton Landing, Nancy Robinson of Saratoga Springs, Linda Fish and her husband, Tom, of Lake Luzerne, Shirley Robinson of Gansevoort, Charles Robinson and his wife, Dawn, of Bolton Landing, and David Robinson and his wife, Mary, of Warrensburg; 14 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on Albert’s family from 2 to 4 pm, Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will follow the visitation at 4 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Lee Call, Pastor of the Faith Baptist Church in Warrensburg.
Burial will be conducted privately, at the convenience of the family.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Albert’s memory to the Bolton Emergency Squad, or the Bolton Volunteer Fire Company.
