Obituary of Bruce E. Reed

Warrensburg: Bruce E. Reed, 69, formerly of Commercial Avenue and Countryside Adult Home, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Washington Center for Rehabilitation & Nursing in Argyle surrounded by his loving family. Born June 30, 1948 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Cecil A. and Isabell (Matteson) Reed. Bruce attended Warrensburg Central School. He was employed as a line cook at various North Country locations, including Forest Lake Camp, as well as a custodian at Warrensburg Central School. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings, Robert and Wayne Reed, brother-in-law, Michael McNeil, sisters-in-law, Bambi and Mary Ellen Reed. He is survived by his wife, Karen L. Reed; children, Douglas McKinney and his wife, Joelle, Barry McKinney and his wife, Debra, Brian Reed and his wife, Shannon, Jennifer Reed and her companion, Steve; 13 grandchildren: Alyssa, Brianna, Trevor, Logan, Meghan, Liam, Kelsea, Olivia, Sophie, Jordyn, Zachary, Austin, and Stevie; brothers, William Reed, Gerald Reed, Earl Reed and his companion, Elaine, Dale Reed, and Edward Reed and his wife, Terri; sisters, Joan (Ronald) Monahan, Jodi Lovett, and Ruth McNeil; sisters-in-law, Joyce and Becky Reed. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends. At Bruce’s request there will be no calling hours scheduled. A graveside service to celebrate his life will take place at 11 am, Friday, October 20, 2017 in Warrensburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Bruce’s memory to the Pediatric Unit at Albany Medical Center.
