Obituary of Susan M. Andrews

Warrensburg/Hudson Falls: Susan M. Andrews, 68, of King Street, and formerly of Hudson Falls, went into the arms of the Lord, Sunday, August 13, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with numerous health concerns. Born November 6, 1948 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Nellie (Alexander) Underwood. Sue was a graduate of Hudson Falls High School, Class of 1966. She went on to complete her Associates Degree in Business from Adirondack Community College, graduating in 1968. She was employed throughout the area by NY Telephone Co., Ring America Answering Service, Fort Edward School Business Office, Hudson Falls School District as a Teaching Assistant, and the Town of Kingsbury Recreation Department, where she headed Arts & Crafts, and Hudson Falls United Methodist Church, where she was secretary for 20 years. Sue married Stephen Andrews on September 6, 1969 at the Hudson Falls United Methodist Church. Her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. She was a woman of great faith who enjoyed ministering to her church family. She also had a great affinity for cats. In addition to her parents, Sue is predeceased by several aunts and uncles, Charles and Dot Underwood, George and Ruth Underwood, Muriel Tyminski, Emma Parsons, Joan Underwood, Ralph and Philip Underwood, and Phoebe and Donald Alexander. She is survived by her beloved husband of 47 years, Rev. Stephen Andrews of Warrensburg; her children, Julie Andrews of Nashua, NH and Todd Andrews and his wife, Tricia, of Comstock; four grandchildren, Hannah, Rebekah, Asher, and Serah Andrews; two brothers, Alec Underwood and his wife Julianne, and Ron Underwood; sister-in law, Diane Underwood; nieces and nephews, Abby DePalo, Austin, Alexandria, Randy, Chad, Amy, and Meghan Underwood; aunts and uncles, Doris Underwood, Ernie Underwood, Lucille Underwood, Leo and Diantha Underwood, Harry and Beverly Underwood. Friends may call on Sue’s family from 6 to 8 pm, Friday, August 18, 2017 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Family and friends may also call on Sue’s family from 1 to 2 pm, Saturday at the Hudson Falls United Methodist Church, 227 Main St., Hudson Falls. A funeral service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at 2 pm Saturday, at the church, with Rev. Derek Hansen officiating and Rev. John Chesney, co-officiating. Burial will follow in Moss Street Cemetery, Hudson Falls.
