Obituary of Robin T. Messemer

Warrensburg: Robin Thomas Messemer, 49, of Warrensburg, passed away on March 1st, 2019 surrounded by beloved family and friends. Robin graduated from Franklin Academy High School in Malone, New York, in 1987. She went on to study International Business and Foreign Languages at St. Michael's College. Robin led dynamic careers including roles at Tru-Stitch Footwear, Orvis, New York Housing and Urban Development and Northeastern Products Corporation. Robin was a devoted mother, sister and friend who uplifted those around her with her fun-loving personality, kindness and exceptional sense of humor. She was passionate about her family, especially raising her two sons, Matthew and Cooper. Robin was an avid reader and talented cook who loved to sing and dance to her favorite 80’s hits. She enjoyed the outdoors, including walks down to the river behind her home in Warrensburg and recently bringing her family together for a week-long reunion on Sherman Lake. Robin met Kyle Messemer in 2006. They were married in 2007 in Manchester, Vermont. Together they raised Cooper Messemer, along with Matthew Dion in partnership with Joe Dion. Robin is survived by her husband Kyle Messemer, sons Matthew Dion and Cooper Messemer, mother Judith Byers Thomas, father Robert Thomas, sister and brother-in-law Amy and Willis (Bill) Smith, nephew Willis “Billy” Smith, brothers David Thomas and Ben Thomas, Matthew’s father Joe Dion, sister- and brother-in-law Deanne and Brian Lacoste, nephew Jared, nieces Jennah and Julia, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and many close extended family and friends. The family has entrusted Alexander Funeral Home with the arrangements. Calling hours are scheduled for 5-7pm, Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 3809 Main St. in Warrensburg, New York.
