Obituary of Grant D. Eldridge

Warrensburg: Grant Duell Eldridge, 94, formerly of Elm Street, passed away Friday, February 26, 2010 at Westmount Health Facility in Queensbury surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 6, 1915 in Indian Lake, he was a son of the late Harry and Alice (Duell) Eldridge. Grant owned Eldridge's Garage in Warrensburg and operated it with his sons Leonard and Jerry for many years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed music and dancing throughout his life. He and Norma retired to Oklawaha, FL where they spent many warm and sunny winters. He will be sadly missed by his family and his many friends. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Beverly (Bennett) Eldridge; his son, Jerry Eldridge; his brothers: Robert Eldridge, Kenneth Eldridge and Gilbert Eldridge; and his sisters: Henrietta Day and Sarah Jacobs. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Norma; his children: Leonard Eldridge and his wife, Regina of Warrensburg; Thomas Eldridge and his wife, Mary of Langhorne, PA; Mary Litts and her husband, Robert of Pinellas Park, FL; Alice Pike of Glens Falls; Patrick Eldridge and his wife, Luann of Thurman; and Robert Eldridge of Madison, FL. He is also survived by his step-son Bernard Baker, Jr. of Warrensburg and The Villages, FL; along with several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Grant’s family from 5 to 7 pm, Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral services will follow the visitation at 7 pm at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Cox of St. Cecilia's RC Church in Warrensburg officiating.
