Obituary of Christopher Charles Lambeth

Please share a memory of Christopher to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Warrensburg: Christopher Charles Lambeth, 46, of Victory Court, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his loving family following a courageous 11 year battle with cancer. Born March 19, 1969 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Harvey E. Lambeth, Jr. of Seattle, WA and Deborah (Skeen) Lambeth of Schenectady. Chris sparked an interest in cuisine at the young age of twelve, working as a dish washer in several local restaurants. While attending Niskayuna High School, he enrolled in the Culinary Arts program where he excelled in his craft. Following his high school graduation, he continued his studies at Johnson & Whales University in Providence, RI, graduating in 1989 with his Culinary Arts degree. Chris went on to travel throughout the country, working at some of the most prestigious restaurants and hotels, including the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, DC, Palace Café in New Orleans, LA, the famed Le Bernardin in NYC, NY, Vail Cascade Hotel and Club in Vail, CO, to Campagne in Seattle, WA. His travels eventually brought him back to the east coast, more specifically, the very region he grew up in. There, Chris purchased the Grist Mill on the Schroon, an exquisite restaurant in the historic district of Warrensburg, where, as Head Chef, he created a defining menu and successful business which is still a staple amongst area fine dining. Chris loved spending time with his family, travelling to Europe and Russia, and enjoying the magic of Disney with his children. He was an avid outdoorsman, rock climbing and skiing, even teaching his children how to ski and spending his winters working a Gore Mountain. He was an acolyte of St. George’s Church in the Stockade Section of Schenectady. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Ekaterina “Kate” Lambeth; his children, Christopher Andre and Lana Lambeth; brothers, Harvey E. Lambeth, III, and his wife, Mary Jeanne and Peter Lambeth and his wife, Rebecca; step-mother, Wendy Lambeth; mother-in-law, Iriana; and sister-in-law, Masha, as well as several extended family members. At Chris’ request there will be no calling hours or funeral services scheduled. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Lana & Chris Lambeth Education Fund, c/o TD Bank, PO Box 29, Bolton Landing, NY 12814.
