Obituary of Edward W. Amell

North Creek: Edward W. Amell, 70, of Fairview Avenue, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born May 13, 1948 in Tupper Lake, he was the son of Hilda (Moulton) Streeter of Bristol, CT and the late Leon Amell. Following his graduation from Johnsburg Central School, Ed enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country until his honorable discharge in 1970. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his beloved wife of 27 years, Nancy Amell. He is survived by his children: Edward L. Amell and his wife, Robin of Fort Edward; Shannon Amell and his wife, Jennifer of Glens Falls; five grandchildren: Brittni Kegan of Fort Edward; Elizabeth Tholl and her husband, Gregg of Fort Edward, Edward W. Amell of Fort Edward, Emalee and Issac Amell of Glens Falls; great-grandchildren, IdaMae and Eloise Tholl; siblings, Carol Billings and her husband, Rick of CT, Leona Bibby and her husband, William of North River, Glen Amell and his wife, Judy of Johnsburg, and Charlene Freebern and her husband, Mike of North River; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Ed’s family from 12 to 1 pm, Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate his life will immediately follow the visitation at 1 pm, at the funeral home. Spring burial will be conducted in Minerva Baptist Cemetery, Route 28N, Minerva at a time to be announced.
