Obituary of Betty L. Hill

Betty L. (Turner) Hill, 70, of Burdick Avenue, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 22, 2014 at Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, following a long illness.
Born April 17, 1944 in Westport, she was the daughter of the late William and Ella (Sherman) Burke.
Betty married Joseph E. Hill on September 17, 1993.
In addition to spending time with her family, Betty enjoyed fishing with her husband, gardening, and cooking. She was employed in the cafeteria at the Sagamore Resort for many years.
Besides her parents, Betty is predeceased by her beloved husband of 17 years, and her brothers, James, William, and Louis Burke.
She is survived by her sons, Richard Turner and his wife, Barb, of Athol, Thomas Turner and his wife, Dawn, of Ticonderoga, and Michael Turner and his companion, Lacey Jo Ferguson, of Warrensburg; a daughter, Pamela Grey and her husband, Don, of Schroon Lake; step-daughter, Christie “Mitt” Skiffington and her husband, B.J.; step-son, Joseph Hill and his wife, Merissa, all of Warrensburg; five brothers, Bruce Burke and his wife, Joyce, of Fort Edward, Robert Burke and his wife, Marion, of South Glens Falls, Herbert Burke and his wife, Ellen, of Westport, Thomas Burke and his wife, Yvonne, of Ticonderoga, and Raymond Burke; a sister, Mary Marmion and her companion, Peter, of Derby, CT. She also leaves behind 24 grandchildren; Bradley, Emily, Seth, Thomas, Jennifer, Laraecia, Tabatha, Danielle, Keiyana, Crystal, Christopher, Courtney, Sarah, Elizabeth, Mason, Shelby, Brandon, Nathan, Trinity, Zachary, Hannah, Nathaniel, Virginia, and Joseph, 16 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her “baby”, Scoobie.
Friends may call on Betty’s family from 10 am to 12 pm, Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at 12 pm, Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Nancy Barrow, officiating.
Burial will follow in Barrett Cemetery, Dresden.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Betty’s name to the Warrensburg Emergency Squad, PO Box 157, Warrensburg, NY 12885.
