Obituary of Madeleine M. Weidman

Madeleine M. “Midge” Weidman, 75, of Warren Street, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born September 8, 1941 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of the late William and Madeline (Brennan) Wilmot.
She married Alton “Fred” Weidman, Sr. on June 5, 1960 at the Fonda Methodist Church.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be remembered for her willingness to help anyone in need. She had a love for children, and for many years, she was a Cub Scout den mother with her lifelong friend, Louise Hall as well as fostering 18 children throughout the years.
Besides spending time with her family, she enjoyed road trips, camping, fishing, and above all, her love of God creatures.
For many years, she was a member of the Rebecca’s with the Independent Order of Oddfellows.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, Robert and Ronald “Skinny” Wilmot.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Alton “Fred” Weidman of Warrensburg; her children, Brenda Cleveland and her husband, John of Warrensburg, Alton Weidman, Jr. of Pottersville, Jason Weidman and his companion, Kerry FitzGerald of Warrensburg, Matt Weidman and his fiancée, Tabatha Mumblow of Chestertown, Mike Wickware and his wife, Vickie of SC; grandchildren, Emily Weidman, Makayla Weidman, and Dustin Hall; her sisters, Roberta Couzzo of Amsterdam and Kathleen Vrooman and her husband, Harold of Long Island; her brother, Roger Wilmot and his wife, Sharon of Fort Johnson, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Midge’s family from 4 to 7 pm, Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at 7 pm, at the funeral home with Sister Linda Hogan, Parish Life Director of St. Cecilia’s RC Church, officiating.
Burial will be conducted at 10 am, Friday, at Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Renal Dialysis Center, 3 Broad St. Plaza, Glens Falls, NY 12801.
Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at the Renal Dialysis Center for the loving care she received for the last three years.
