Obituary of Kimberly J. Hotaling

Please share a memory of Kimberly to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Warrensburg: The Founder of Sticky’s Graphics, Kimberly J. Hotaling (Heald), passed away peacefully on December 25, 2016 after fighting a courageous battle against ovarian cancer. She was born in Tampa, FL on June 22, 1973. Kim was a graduate of Ballston Spa High school where she spent many a day smiling, laughing and scheming with friends. She had a smile that could light up any room and a spirit that was both addicting and stubborn. Kim always looked for the good in others and had an undying need to give with everything she had, no matter how great or small. She touched many lives with nothing more than a smile, a gentle hug and an “I won't take no for an answer” attitude. She strived to turn moments into memories for her family and stood as a one woman cheer squad for her children. Kim’s heart and soul touched so many that it remains a mystery how one woman could spread so much positivity and support without a staffing unit on hand. Kim had the gift of turning nothing into something. Whether it be smiling through her own hardships or holding another’s hand through theirs, she was able to stand tall and strong. She spent the better part of her life as a caregiver to many. She worked at O.D. Heck with the mentally challenged, as a care provider. She also worked at Rensselaer County Hospice, as a health aide. She spent time working at Glens Falls Hospital MHU, as a care provider and Kim spent many years at Glens Falls Eye Associates, as a surgical scheduler. She then became an independent business owner in Warrensburg NY where she resided and proceeded to become an awareness advocate for ovarian cancer. From beginning until the end of her diagnosis she fought hard to spread awareness and light on a subject hard to swallow for many. She took pride in the research, the support and even in the battle that she was enduring because she knew that her fight was shared by so many others that weren't as strong, and she was fighting for them as well. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, daughter and friend with a heart and door always open to anyone that needed her. Kim lived her life as a fighter. She never once gave in or became weak, and for that we couldn't be more proud of her. Heaven gained a Christmas Angel with an untamed soul the morning of December 25th and those clouds and this earth will never be the same. Kim was predeceased by her father Garth Heald. She is survived by her husband William (Chet), her sons Tyler and Brendan and her step-children Samantha, Ashley, Randi, and Clayton. Also, her mother Gladys, her sister Jennifer, her brothers Howard, Brian, Karl and Jeff as well as several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and close family friends, Crystal and Kayla. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Dr. John Stoutenburg and his medical staff for the amazing care that was given and for allowing us to hold on to our loved one for just that much longer. Friends may call on Kim’s family from 5 to 7 pm, Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A memorial service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at 7 pm, at the funeral home with Rev. Stephen Andrews, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Kim’s name at Glens Falls National Bank. Please visit www.alexanderfh.net for online guest book, condolences, and directions.
