Claudia R. Ball, 80, long time resident of the North Creek area passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the Adirondack Tri-County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in North Creek.
Born February 23, 1931 in Stony Creek, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Hildred (Hammond) Eddy.
She married Edward C. Ball in 1948.
After obtaining her GED, Claudia received her associate’s degree in journalism from Empire State College. She then served as the librarian in Minerva for several years.
Claudia was well known for her musical talents, playing guitar and singing; as she taught many locals to play as well.
She enjoyed crocheting, circle word books, and reading.
Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Ed; one son, Jonathan Mark Ball; and her siblings, Isabelle Smith and Kenneth Eddy.
Survivors include her daughter, Ann Hayes and her husband, Carl of North Creek; a son, James Ball and his wife, Rose of Minerva; three grandchildren, Carol Hayes of Athol; Jennifer Ball of Olmstedville; and Mary Jenks and her husband, Tom of Minerva. She also leaves behind several great-grandchildren.
Claudia will be greatly missed. Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Adirondack Tri-County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care and love they provided her with.
At Claudia’s request there will be no calling hours or funeral services scheduled.
