Obituary of Sandra Lee DeLoria

Warrensburg: Sandra Lee DeLoria, 65, of River Street, passed away peacefully Friday, April 21, 2006 at her home following a courageous battle with cancer. Born June 13, 1940 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late William and Eleanor (Moses) Wood. Sandi was a lifelong resident of the area. While raising her children, she enjoyed camping and being a 4H leader. She loved gardening and attending to her beautiful flowers. Sandi also had a passion for canning vegetables in the summer from her and Niki’s garden. Most of all she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a longtime active member of the Warrensburg First United Methodist Church. Besides her parents, her nephew, David Parker also predeceased her. Survivors include her 22 year companion, Nickolia Zuboff; her cat, Beebe; her daughters, Jodie McGrath and her husband, Tom of Dumfries, VA, Holly Hightower of Thurman; her sons, Otis Rumble and his wife, Cindy of Warrensburg, Philip DeLoria and his wife, Diane of Thurman; grandchildren, Thomas McGrath and his wife, Coleen of Tampa, FL, John McGrath of Dumfries, VA, Joshua, Jason and Sara Hightower of Thurman, Taylor Rumble of Warrensburg, Derek and Nicole DeLoria of Thurman; two sisters, Linda Parker and Gail Needham and her husband, Jimmy; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Sandi’s family from 6-8 pm Monday evening at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Funeral services will be conducted 11 am Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Flossie Bates, of High Peaks Hospice officiating. Burial will follow in Warrensburg Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Thomas McGrath, John McGrath, Josh Hightower, Jason Hightower, Taylor Rumble and Justin DeLoria, and Honorary Pallbearer Jimmy Needham. Sandi’s family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at High Peaks Hospice, especially, Sue and Tammy, who took extra special care of her. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to High Peaks Hospice
