Obituary of William H. Bormann

Stony Creek:
William H. Bormann, IV, 65, of John Hill Road, Stony Creek, NY passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born September 8, 1951 in White Plains, NY, he was the son of the late William III and Patricia (Gardella) Bormann.
He is survived by his brother and sisters, Eugene Bormann, Donna Tasior, Patricia Sehlmeyer, and Christine Bormann. Nieces and Nephews, Jeremy Winslow, Michael Bormann, Grant Ciccone, Jared Bormann, Titus Ciccone, Kayla Sehlmeyer, Kiley Crooks, Jacquelyn Bouse, and Connor Sehlmeyer. And his beloved cat, Jingles.
Bill served in the United States Army for 13 years. During his service he received numerous awards, certificates, and medals including his Expert Infantryman Badge, Army Achievement Medal, and Army Good Conduct Medal.
After becoming a disabled vet during combat duty, he continued serving his country for the Department of Navy in their security law enforcement division. He retired to Stony Creek, NY in 1993, where he spent his days with his Stony Creek buddies, Louis Pasquarelli, Kevin Fortner, and Patrick Zawartkay.
Bill was known for his contagious sense of humor. He found the good in every situation and usually had a quick joke about it. Bill valued family, friends, and country above all else. Although he had no children of his own, he donated frequently to various Native American Children’s’ Charities over the years.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Anna Lynn Bormann, caregiver Vanessa Pasquarelli, and his pets Congo, Sassy, Spook, and Tiger.
At William’s request, there are no calling hours scheduled.
A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Gerald B. H. Solomon, Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville. Following the ceremony, all friends and family are welcome at Bill’s home for a gathering.
The Bormann Family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at High Peaks Hospice and Palliative Care including Dr. William Tedesco, and Neil Fancett, RN. Additional thanks to Bill’s private caregivers; Jamie Smith, Gene Bormann, and Michael Bormann; the VA; and the Alexander family for all their kindness.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to High Peaks Hospice and Palliative Care, Inc. Queensbury, NY, and the Wounded Warrior Project.
