Obituary of Edna M. Mosher

Johnsburg: Edna M. Mosher, 86, of South Johnsburg Road, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the Glens Falls Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born April 10, 1931 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Hazel (Cleveland) Bateman. She was a lifelong resident of the area and graduated from Johnsburg Central School. Edna married Henry Mosher on Oct. 29, 1949 and spent 56 wonderful years together in their current residence until his passing on April 24, 2006. She began working at Warren County Head Start in Johnsburg in 1971. She loved her job and the many children that affectionately called her grandma. She retired after 37 dedicated years in 2008. She loved spending time with her family and the fun they had together camping, riding six wheelers, dancing, and hosting her outstanding family dinners. Besides her parents and beloved husband, Henry, she is predeceased by a daughter, Julie Lynn (Mosher) Packer, a grandson, Larry Lawrence and brother, Clarence (Bud) Bateman. She is survived by her children: William Mosher, Marylou Pierson and her husband, Don, Carol Lawrence and her companion James Dwyer, III , Susan Hitchcock and her husband, Dan, and Richard Mosher and his companion Mary Carey; sister, Anna Blanchard; grandchildren, Marc and Bart Mosher, Donny and Chad Pierson, Theresa Richards, Timmy Lawrence, Mellissa Mulvey, Danny Hitchcock, Jessica Newman, Lynn Mosher , Connor and Courtney Cavanagh; as well as 26 great grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Edna’s family from 4 to 7 pm, Friday, December 29, 2017, at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 11 am, Saturday, at the Johnsburg Methodist Church, South Johnsburg Rd., Johnsburg with Pastor Arnold Stevens, and Rev. David Newkirk, officiating. Burial will follow in Bates Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Make a Wish Foundation or to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
