Obituary of Beatrice O. Moffitt

Wevertown: Beatrice O. Moffitt, 94, of Moffitt Road, passed away, Friday, November 24, 2006 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a brief illness. Born September 11, 1912 in Bakers Mills, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Mary Jane (Morehouse) Washburn. Her many hobbies included canning, berry picking, reading, bird watching, knitting, quilting, gardening, growing flowers, and sewing. She is predeceased by her husband, William Moffitt; and infant daughter; two sons, Herbert and Hollis Moffitt; two sisters, Lillian Millington and Frannie Dunkley; three brothers, Cassius, Clifford and Erwin Washburn; four grandchildren, Vincent Moffitt Jr., Lester Moffitt Jr., Eric Moffitt and Myra Moffitt. Survivors include her daughter, Charlotte Springer of Wevertown; her five sons, Carson Moffitt of Glens Falls, Vincent Moffitt and his wife, Janet of Wevertown, Roger Moffitt and his wife, Linda of Wevertown, Lester Moffitt of Brant Lake, George Moffitt and his wife, Dee Dee of Wevertown; one brother, Ozzie Washburn and his wife, Vara of Johnsburg; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Beatrice’s family from 5-7 pm Monday evening at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. Funeral services will be conducted 11 am Tuesday at the funeral home with burial to follow in Bates Cemetery, Johnsburg. Pallbearers will be Mike Baker, Robert Moffitt, Herby Moffitt, George Moffitt, Hayley Killon and Lester Moffitt. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
