Obituary of Ann Wynn Foster

Warrensburg: Ann Wynn (Whitacre) Foster, 79, formerly of Warrensburg NY, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, October 10, 2017, in St. Augustine, Florida. Born July 20, 1938 in New York, New York, she was the daughter of the late Evan and Egrynwen (Richards) Whitacre. Ann graduated from Warrensburg High School, Class of 1956, and Mary Hitchcock School of Nursing in 1958. As the wife of an Army officer, Ann traveled throughout the United States and many countries in Europe while raising her family. She was actively involved in Girl Scouts while living in Germany and the United States. Ann was an avid Tole and Decorative painter, and developed a talent and enthusiasm for teaching the Art for more than 30 years. Her passion and accomplishments in Decorative Art included organizing and beginning Chapters in several states for the National Society for Tole and Decorative Painters. In addition to her parents, Ann is predeceased by her brother, Evan Buzby Whitacre. She is survived by her sister, Peggy (Strutton); three children, Jeffrey, Karen and Jamie; nine grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. Friends may call on Ann’s family from 10 to 11 am, Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate her beautiful life immediately follow the visitation at 11 am, at the funeral home, with Rev. Thomas Pettigrew, Rector of the Church of the Holy Cross, officiating.
