Obituary of Lydia Wenker

Thurman:
Lydia Wenker, 81, of Valley Road, passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born October 7, 1933 in Yugoslavia, she was the daughter of the late Johan and Johanna (Frisch) Goerges.
In addition to her parents, Lydia was predeceased by her brother, Peter Goerges.
She is survived by Hans J. Wenker, her beloved husband of 59 years; a son, Hans Jr. of Thurman; two daughters, Christel Cramer and her husband Al of Jasper, Georgia; Heidi Roth and her husband, Kurt of Long Island. Lydia also leaves behind three granddaughters, Rochelle, Ashley, and Jade. Her two great grandchildren are Kristen and C.J. Zangre. One more great grandchild is due on Lydia’s birthday. Lydia is survived by her siblings, Joe, Martha, Hilda, and Oscar. There are also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call on Lydia’s family from noon to 2PM, Friday, May 8 at Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg, NY 12885.
A funeral service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at 2PM, at the funeral home with Sister Linda Hogan CSJ of St. Cecilia’s Church, officiating.
The Rite of Committal will follow in Reynolds Cemetery, Thurman.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Lydia’s memory may take the form of donations to Alzheimer’s Foundation at www.alz.org.
