Ernest Hughes, Sr., 74, formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the Glens Falls Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
Born February 28, 1940 in Farmingdale, he was the son of the late Carl and Marie Hughes.
Ernest proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict, prior to his honorable discharge in 1971.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Marylou Hughes of Stony Creek; his son, Ernest Hughes, Jr., and his wife, Cecelia of Stony Creek; a daughter, Jennifer Ann Robustelli of Mount Kisco; and his grandchildren, Starr and Megan Hughes of Stony Creek.
Friends may call on Ernest’s family from 3 to 7 pm, Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A funeral service to celebrate his life will be conducted at 10 am, Monday, August 4, 2014 at the funeral home with Sister Linda Hogan, Parish Life Director at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Hudson Street, Warrensburg.
