Diamond Point: Karen Lee Putnam, 46, of Diamond Point Rd., was taken home to God, Wednesday evening, December 20, 2006 at the Glens Falls Hospital after a brief battle with cancer. Born August 7, 1960 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Sylvia (Pashley) Putnam of Diamond Point and the late David Putnam. Karen was a lifelong resident of the area and was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Bolton Landing and employed at the Sagamore Resort as the Accounts Payable Supervisor for the last ten years. She was an active leader in the 4H and devoted 36 years to the 4H motto. She was a co-leader with her life long friend, Brenda Truesdale and loved and enjoyed many canoe trips with her young 4H’ers. Karen is survived by her beloved mother, Sylvia Putnam of Diamond Point; and her brother, Keith D. Putnam of Warrensburg. Karen’s family extends a heartfelt thank you to the Oncologists, Urologist, Gynecologists, Pulmonologists and Hudson Headwaters Physicians and nurses on the second and sixth floors in the ER and Intensive Care Unit for the exceptional care they all provided Karen in her last days. A memorial service to celebrate Karen’s life will be conducted 11 am Saturday at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church on Stewart Ave., Bolton Landing with the Rev. Carol Knapp, Pastor, officiating. Friends may call on the family one hour prior to the memorial service at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Double H Hole in the Woods Ranch, 97 Hidden Valley Rd., Lake Luzerne, NY 12846.
