Obituary of Lillian Anne Vanderwalker

Minerva: Lillian Anne (Dimick) Vanderwalker, 82, of State Route 28N, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Glens Falls Hospital. Born June 22, 1933 in Minerva, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Edith (Rounds) Dimick. Lillian enlisted in the United States Air Force, briefly serving her country. Throughout the years, she worked at Adirondack Tri-County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, owned and operated the Glendale Diner in Pottersville, and was a housekeeper in Lake George for many years. Besides spending time with her family, Lillian enjoyed travelling, Fairs, auctions, and long car rides. In addition to her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her beloved husband of 56 years, George M. Vanderwalker, by two brothers, Harold and Gordon Dimick, and a sister, Emily Dimick. She is survived by ten children, Alfred Dimick, Thomas Cleveland both of Texas, Wendy (Michael) Millington of Connecticut, Deborah (Orlando) Millington of Gloversville, Randy (Diane Cavanaugh) Vanderwalker of Minerva, Edith LeVeille of Johnsburg, Ruth Vanderwalker of Minerva, Sandy Venner of Oklahoma, Barbara (Edward) Moehringer of Chestertown, Lynn (Douglas) Green of Minerva; two sisters, Barbara Curtis of Minerva and Vivian Hopkins of Huntsville, Alabama; sister-in-law, Clara Dimick of Minerva; 20 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and godchildren. Friends may call on Lillian’s family from 10 am to 12 pm, Saturday, March 19, at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate her life will immediately follow the visitation at noon, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Minerva Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Lillian’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org or Minerva Fire & Rescue, P.O. Box 924, Minerva, NY 12851.
