Obituary of Frederick C. Stone

Lake Worth, Florida – Warrensburg: Frederick C. Stone Sr., 68, of Lake Worth Florida and formerly of Warrensburg passed away Monday, July 16, 2007 at his son’s home in Potsdam, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born December 7, 1938 in Warrensburg he was the son of the late “Buck” Stone and Madeline Stone. Fred graduated from Warrensburg High School in 1957 and went to work for NYSDOT September 16, 1957 which took him to Utica, Albany, and Binghamton. He married Nancy Milliette Stone on June 16, 1962 and returned to Warrensburg in July of 1969 as Assistant Resident Engineer for NYSDOT which he retired from April 21, 1994. He also served in the US Navy and was a member of the Warrensburg Fire Company. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Linda Stone Friend. Survivors include his former wife, Nancy Stone of Warrensburg; his son, Frederick Stone Jr. and his wife Carolyn Stone of Potsdam; his daughter, Colleen Stone and her companion, Dale Bealmear of Warrensburg; his three grandchildren, Benjamin and Daniel Stone of Potsdam and Kaitlyn Stone of Warrensburg, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call on Fred’s family from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm, Friday, August 3, 2007 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A memorial service to celebrate his life will follow the visitation at 1:30 pm Friday at the funeral home with Fr. John Cornelius, Rector of the Church of the Holy Cross in Warrensburg officiating. Interment will take place in the Warrensburg Cemetery. Please join with family and friends immediately following for a reception in his honor at Thousand Aces Ranch Resort in Warrensburg.
