Obituary of Daniel M. Woodard
Please share a memory of Daniel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Lake George:
Daniel M. (Prosser) Woodard, 45, of Bloody Pond Rd., passed away Thursday August 27, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his loving family following a long, hard fought battle with cancer.
Born November 30, 1969 in Glens Falls, he was the son of Beverly (Packard) Donovan of Hudson Falls and Daniel Prosser of an unknown township.
Dan was a drifter and a bit of a gypsy soul throughout most of his life; he traveled many places, making friends, in many areas. He finally settled down when he met his wife, Doreen. Dan had a strong adoration for kids, sports, and cooking. He spent much of his time making large family dinners, watching sports with his brother, Jimmy, sharing his love for wrestling with his brother, Mikey, paling around with his sidekick and granddaughter, Imajin, to whom he was a strong, consistent male role model to, building large bon fires with his best friend, Don, enjoying long talks with Jackie, and watching movies, camping, and road trips with his wife.
Dan is predeceased by his grandmothers, Alice Prosser and Adeline Packard, grandfathers, Leslie Prosser and Wilmont Packard, three uncles, Pete and Stewart Prosser, and William Packard, an aunt, Debbie Prosser, and good friend, Barry Raymond.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Doreen Woodard of Lake George; step-children, Jackie Lee (Don) of Stony Creek, and Joshua Prosser (Amanda) of Queensbury; adopted mother, Cheryl Tennant of Warrensburg; brothers, James Blydenburgh (Sam), and Michael Tennant all of Warrensburg, and Chuck Woodard of Albany; sisters, Angela Gille (Scott) of Hudson Falls, Andrea Blanck (Marcus) of Salem, Candie Donovan of Glens Falls, and Danielle Prosser of Hudson; grandchildren, Imajin, Donovan, Jazmine, Hailey, and Randy. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Friends may call on Dan’s family from 1 to 2 pm, Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Home, Inc., 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will immediately follow the visitation at 2 pm, at the funeral home.
Danny's wish was for everyone to wear a sports jersey.
Burial will follow in Warrensburg Cemetery.
Friends are invited to gather from 4 to 6 pm, Wednesday, at the American Legion in Hudson Falls; please bring a dish and memories to share.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to Doreen Woodard to help defray funeral expenses.
Special thanks to Stacy, Phil, Matt and Kelly from High Peaks Hospice, and to all who sat with Dan throughout his illness, including Bob McCormach, Jimmy, Josh, Jackie, Amanda, Billy Jo, Rosa, Beverly, and Barry who tragically passed in December.
