Obituary of Elizabeth A. Morin

Warrensburg: Elizabeth A. Morin, 93, passed away peacefully, Sunday, May 29, 2011 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family. Born September 22, 1917 in Monticello Village, MN, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (McKnight) Bryant. Elizabeth met Stuart J. Morin following his honorable discharge from the U.S. Army Air Force in 1945 and the couple wed on March 5, 1946 in Boston, MA. Her career as Executive Medical Secretary at Brunswick Psychiatric Hospital spanned for more than a decade. She was a very strong willed woman. Elizabeth participated in numerous peace movements, and advocated for Human Rights. She belonged to political organizations including the Peacesmith House and the Women’s International League of Freedom. She was a very active member of the Community Methodist Church in Massapequa, L.I. and the First United Methodist Church in Warrensburg. She spent many hours performing charity work. She was committed to local organizations such as Meals on Wheels. She was an active board member at the Community Methodist Church and gave much support for the Missionary work done within the church. Besides her beloved husband of 38 years, she is predeceased by her sister, Luverne Koenman and her brother, Robert Bryant; and step-granddaughter, Lydia Monforte. She is survived by her children: Connie Monforte and her husband, Ed of Warrensburg; Christine Morin and her partner, Heidi Trester of Cape Cod, MA; Stuart Morin of Brooklyn; her grandchildren: Michael Monforte and his wife, Jamie of Schenectady; Nathan Monforte and his wife, Kathleen of Burlington, VT; Anne Whipple and her companion, Eric of Cape Cod, MA; Joel Whipple of San Francisco, CA; Zachary Monforte and his wife, Halley of Manchester, VT; and Shane Monforte of Warrensburg; her great-granddaughter, Camryn Clarke Monforte of Manchester, VT; step-grandchildren: Bruce Monforte of Fl; Eric Monforte if LI; Sandra Monforte of LI; and Terianne Irizarry of LI; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. There are no calling hours scheduled. At Elizabeth’s request, funeral services will be conducted privately at the convenience of her family. She will be reunited with her husband, Stuart in the Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, NY. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to a charity of one’s choice.
