Obituary of Hans J. Wenker

Thurman: Hans J. Wenker, 83, of Valley Road, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 27, 2015 at his home. Born March 10, 1932 in Hamburg, Germany, he was the son of the late William and Emma (Menck) Wenker. In addition to his parents, Hans was predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years, Lydia Wenker. He is survived by a son, Hans Jr. of Thurman; two daughters, Christel Cramer and her husband, Al, of Jasper, GA, and Heidi Roth and her husband, Kurt, of Long Island; three granddaughters, Rochelle, Ashley, and Jade; three great-grandchildren, Kristen and CJ Zangre and Hudson Lyon. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Hans’ family from 12 to 2 pm, Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate his life will immediately follow the visitation at 2 pm, at the funeral home, with Sister Linda Hogan CSJ of St. Cecilia’s Church, officiating. Burial will take place privately in Reynolds Cemetery, Thurman. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Hans’ memory may take the form of donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation at www.alz.org.
