Nancylee VanDerwarker, 67, of River Street, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a brief illness.
Born November 17, 1938 in Riparius, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Carol (Dutcher) VanDerwarker.
Nancylee was a lifelong resident of the area and began her working years as a chambermaid with various resorts in the area including O’Connor’s and Lake George Motel. For the last 10 years, she had been employed with the Warren County Co- Operative Extension in Warrensburg.
She was an avid reader and enjoyed making crafts, needlepoint and collecting rooster and snowmen figurines.
Besides her parents, her infant sisters, Elaine and Mary Louise predeceased her. Her sister, Josephine “Jodi” Weller died in 1999 and her brother, Keith died in 2001.
Survivors include her brother, Daniel VanDerwarker and his fiancée, Linda Green of Athol; her sister, Cheryl Jean Moffitt of Glens Falls; two aunts, Helen Raymond of Riparius, Adeline Agard of Pottersville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service to celebrate Nancylee’s life will be conducted 7 pm Tuesday evening, March 28 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
Friends may call on her family one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
Burial will take place in the Chester Rural Cemetery, Chestertown later this spring.
