Anita A. Zuschlag, 85, formerly of Hudson Street, passed away, Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Eden Park Health Care Facility in Glens Falls with her loving family by her side.
Born November 5, 1922 in the Bronx, she was the daughter of the late William and Augusta (Hoya) Maier.
Anita favorite pastimes included crocheting, sewing, gardening, reading, and taking walks.
Besides her parents, her husband, Charles W. Zuschlag, Sr. died in 1975; her son, Charles W. Zuschlag and her daughter in law, Carol Jean Zuschlag have also predeceased her.
She was the loving sister to her brother, William Maier of California; her sisters, Helen Becker of Port Jefferson Station, Lillian Kaufold of Farmingdale, Dorothy Polak and Joan Esler of New Jersey.
She had three grandchildren, Heidi Morehouse and her husband, Tony of Warrensburg, Holly Gibson of Tampa, FL, and Heather Zuschlag also of Tampa, FL.
She was also very proud to be the great grandmother of six, Samantha and Emily Rae Morehouse of Warrensburg, Jared and Kasey Gibson, and Thomas and Madisyn Cherry all of Tampa, FL.
Anita’s family would like to thank the staff at Countryside Adult Home in Warrensburg for their wonderful care and friendship during her brief stay.
The family would also like to thank the third floor nursing staff at Eden Park. The love and compassion that you showed Anita will never be forgotten.
In keeping with Anita’s request, there will be no calling hours scheduled and a graveside service in the Warrensburg Cemetery will be at the convenience of her family.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Heart Association in Anita’s memory.
