Obituary of Gladys M. McNeill

Warrensburg: Gladys M. McNeill, 87, formerly of Warren St., passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at Adirondack Tri-County Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in North Creek. Born April 30, 1926 in Waterbury, CT, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Lena (Bombard) Monroe. Gladys graduated from Lake George High School in 1944 and was the class Vise President. Gladys married Harold J. McNeill on March 29, 1947. The couple enjoyed many trips to Old Orchard Beach, ME, spending 22 happy years together before Harold’s passing on December 28, 1969. Gladys began working in the Warrensburg Shirt factory before working as the floor manager at the former Embassy Shirt Factory in Glens Falls for many years. She enjoyed swimming in Echo Lake and horseback riding as an adult. She is survived by her in laws, Irma Winslow of Warrensburg, Joseph F. McNeill and his wife, Sandra of Bolton Landing, and several other extended family members. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Friday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St, Warrensburg with the Rev. Nancy Barrow, Pastor of the Warrensburg Free Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call on the family from 1-2 pm before the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Warrensburg Cemetery.
