Obituary of Edwin K. Moffitt

Chestertown: Edwin K. Moffitt, 65, of Village Estates, passed away peacefully, Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Adirondack Tri-County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Creek following a long illness. Born August 8, 1945 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Edwin R. and Minnie R. (Tripp) Moffitt. Besides spending time with his family, including his beloved grandson, Mathew, he enjoyed tending to his garden. He also enjoyed collecting numerous old country western films and doing carpentry work at his home. He is survived by his son, James Moffitt and his wife, Laura of Chestertown; his daughter, Jessica Pond of Glens Falls; his grandson, Mathew Moffitt; three half-brothers and two half-sisters; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Friends may call on Edwin’s family from 12 to 1 pm, Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg. A funeral service to celebrate his life will follow the visitation at 1 pm, at the funeral home. Burial will be conducted in the Darrowsville Cemetery in Chestertown. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the North Warren EMS, PO Box 323, Chestertown, NY 12817.
