Obituary of Ann L. Wood

Athol: Ann L. Wood, 53, of Mud Street, passed away, Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the Glens Falls Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer. Born May 28, 1960 in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of Gilbert R. Wood, Sr. of Athol and the late Rosalie Broe-Wood. She was a lifelong resident of the area. Following her high school graduation, she worked as a waitress in numerous local diners, making many friends along the way. Besides spending time with her family, Ann enjoyed gardening, crafts, and spending time with her great nieces and nephews. Ann’s house was always a gathering place for the holidays and for the neighborhood children. She hosted many touch football games for the kids, as well as the annual Wood “Cookie Bake Off.” In addition to her mother, Ann was predeceased by her brother, Michael Wood, who passed away in 1977 and her longtime companion, Mark Kuklinski. Besides her father, she is survived by her children, Matthew Frye and his wife, Candice of Hudson Falls, and Katelyn Kuklinski of VT; seven siblings, Gilbert Wood Jr. of Thurman, Judy Hall and her husband, Jack of Warrensburg, Rosalie Bentley and her husband, Barry of Warrensburg, Diane Wood and her companion, Bob Ross of Warrensburg, Janet Wood of Thurman, Patrick Wood of Thurman, Laurel Martin of Queensbury. She also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A graveside service to celebrate her life will be conducted at 2:00 pm, Monday, November 25, 2013 in Reynolds Cemetery, Thurman. “Have sweet dreams.
