Lillian J. Reed, 92, formerly of Bakers Crossing Rd., passed away peacefully, December 20, 2011 at Westmount Health Facility in Queensbury.
Born June 8, 1919 in Thurman, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Flora (Reynolds) Cameron.
She married Charles R. Reed on her 18th birthday; June 8, 1937.
Lillian worked at the Warrensburg Shirt Factory for 18 years, as well at the Troy Shirt Factory for an additional 18 years before becoming employed by General Electric in Fort Edward; where she worked for over 10 years before retiring.
Her favorite pastime included attending family gathering, visiting with family and friends, crocheting, and loved going out to dine.
Lillian was a longtime member of the Warrensburg Faith Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Charles, of 52 years, who died in 1990; sisters, Midge Cameron and Bertice Baker, brothers, Gordon, Leonard, Gerald, John and Bill Cameron; infant daughter, Charlene.
Lillian is survived by three daughters: Janet Holcomb and her husband, Daniel of Warrensburg; Nancy Venditto and her husband, Rocko of Ocala, FL; Mary Gebo of Warrensburg; and one son, Richard C. Reed and his wife, Catherine of South Glens Falls; her sister, Joyce Baker of Thurman; six granddaughters, Darcy, Michelle, Shannon, Shelly, Stacy and Dawn, five grandsons, Chuck, Chad, Rocky, David and Mike, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 am Saturday, December 24 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St, Warrensburg with Rev. Lee B. Call, Pastor of the Warrensburg Faith Baptist Church officiating.
Friends may call on Lillian’s family one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in Lil’s memory to Warrensburg Faith Baptist Church, Burhans Ave., Warrensburg, NY 12885.
