William D. Tucker, 57, of Petrie Lane, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, December 18, 2017 at Glens Falls Hospital.
Born July 10, 1960 in Fort Dix, NJ, he was the son of the late Donald and Lisa (Reif) Tucker.
Bill graduated from Johnsburg Central School. He then obtained his Associate’s Degree at Hudson Valley Community College.
Bill was as a machinst, working for Everett Charles, EB Metals, and Hubberton Forge, as well as a Critical Care Technician for Bayridge and West Glens Falls EMS.
Affectionaely referred to as “Poppy”, when he wasn’t being a jokester, he loved nothing more than spending time with his family, cooking, and playing with his 20 grandbabies (and counting); he took great pride in all seven of his children as well. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle, hunting, fishing, and sewing. Bill had a heart of gold, who served as his family’s protector and leader, and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need.
He married Mary Shearer Tucker on July 4, 2010 at their home.
In addition to his parents, Bill was predeceased by his brother, Patrick Tucker.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, of Queensbury; children, Jason Tucker and wife, Megan, Kaitlin Savio and husband, Guy Jr., Stephen Harrington, Jr. and companion, Sarah Brealt, Shane Harrington, Angela Doetsch and husband, Logan, Heidi Ellen Shearer, and Holly Shearer and companion, Leland Morehouse, who was also a very dear friend of Bills; 20 grandbabies; siblings, Roland (Susan) Fuerst, Geb (Rose) Tucker, Michael (Deb) Tucker, Eugenia (Sue) Tucker, Elizabeth (Frederick Pierce) Robinson, Monica (Dale) Millington, and Helen (Alfred Wade, Jr.) Tucker. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, best friend since college, Jeff Mariner, and his three puppies, Sierra, Chum, and Lee.
Friends may call on Bill’s family from 1 to 3 pm, Friday, December 22, 2017 at Alexander Funeral Home, 3809 Main St., Warrensburg.
A funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 3 pm, Friday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in Bill’s memory to the SPCA of Upstate NY, 588 Queensbury Ave., Queensbury, NY 12804.
