Obituary of Myra A. Woodward

North Creek: Myra A. Woodward, 92, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012 at the Peter Becker Nursing Home in Harleysville, PA, surrounded by her loving family. Born May 7, 1919 in Gilmore City, Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Edith (Hunt) Allen. Myra graduated from North Creek High School and the Mildred Elley Secretarial School. She then worked as a book keeper/secretary for Hewitt’s Garage and Alexander Brothers Garage prior to marrying Edward Y. Woodward on July 17th, 1948. They spent 64 years together until his passing on December 31, 2011. Myra was a devoted member of the North Creek Methodist Church since 1933, along with the Home Crafters Club, where she held several offices since 1968. She was also a past member of the Eastern Star Jeptha Chapter 89 in Pottersville and a founding member of the Johnsburg Senior Citizens. She is survived by her sons, Edward Yale Woodward, Jr. of Colorado, and William Allen Woodward of Pennsylvania; a grandson, Stephen Michael Woodward of Massachusetts; her brothers: Leo Allen of Plattsburgh; Roger Allen and his wife, Mary Anne of Gansevoort; and her sister, Hazel Minder of North Creek; along with several nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be conducted in the spring at a time to be announced. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, North Creek. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations in her memory to the North Creek Methodist Church or to a charity of one’s choice.
