Obituary of Loretta C. Collard

Pottersville: Loretta C. Collard, 81, of Landon Hill Rd., passed away peacefully, Sunday, April 10, 2010 at Glens Falls Hospital. Born on June 10, 1928 in Crown Point, she was the daughter of the late Tony and Minna Dean. She was married to Thomas E.Collard, who passed away in 1999. Loretta made a career of taking care of her family and anyone else that needed the love. After her children grew up, and her grandchildren were giving her great-grandchildren to love, she filled her time by loving animals. Besides her husband and parents, Loretta was predeceased by her youngest child, Sheila, who entered into heaven in 1969. Loretta is survived by her eight children; Elvita M. Wester, Thomas A. Collard, Rose M. Hopkins, Loretta (Cathy) Collard, Christopher C. Collard, Patricia E. Cowles, Gerald R. Collard, Teri A. Hayes; along with all of their families; her brothers; Victor and Albert Dean. She will also be remembered by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Friends may call on Loretta’s family from 5-7 pm, Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main Street, Warrensburg. Following the visitation, funeral services will be conducted at 7 pm, and conducted with pride by her grandson, Earnest Wester of Corinth. The family has asked that flowers be omitted, due to floral allergies. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to an account in Loretta’s name, at the Hudson River Community Credit Union to help offset funeral expenses.
