Obituary of Craig R. Duers

Craig Richard Duers, 61, of Alden Avenue, passed away, Monday, September 10, 2007 at Glens Falls Hospital following a long illness.
Born November 27, 1945 in Glens Falls, he was the son of the late Gerald and Catherine (Quinlan) Duers.
He attended Saint Mary’s Catholic School in Hudson Falls.
He married Carole O’Dell on September 4, 1982.
Craig was a self employed painter who loved painting farms. Through his career, he painted Hicks Apple Orchard; the Twin Bridges; the Steamin’ Demon ride at Great Escape, along with many houses around the area. Craig loved to help others.
Besides his parents, Craig was also predeceased by his son, Craig Duers and his brother, Gerald Duers.
Craig is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Carole Anne (O’Dell) Duers of Warrensburg. Together they had five beautiful children: Thomas, of Warrensburg; Joseph, of Fort Edward; three daughters, Eliza, Terrance and Elizabeth, all of Warrensburg.
A son, Mike Benway and his wife Sue, and three wonderful grandchildren: Mike, Matt and Sara of West Glens Falls. Two brothers; John Duers of Florida and Richard Dunn of North Carolina; One sister, Terrance Garcia of Florida; Stepfather, Richard Dunn, of North Carolina; and his best friend Ron.
Friends may call on Craig’s family from 5-6 pm Thursday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 3809 Main St. Warrensburg.
A memorial service to celebrate Craig’s life will follow the visitation at 6 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
Craig’s family wishes to thank the staff of the Glens Falls Hospital and the High Peaks Hospice for all the compassionate and wonderful care provided to Craig during his illness. The family would also like to thank Howard and his mother, Barb Finch, for stopping by and calling everyday and Uncle Bob Homan and Sister Donna, who stayed by our side.
